How many Americans have died of AIDs?

I don't believe in AIDS because no one has ever really died of AIDS.?

• If there is really AIDS, then why doesn't people die from it? They always die of COMPLICATIONS from AIDS making it a made up disease. Plus on top of that, "infected" people with AIDS look perfectly normal but they're actually "sick" and are dying. Anyone who's had AIDS doesn't actually die of AIDS. It's more like Pneumonia or how ever it's spelled. So if that was the case, the cause of death was pneumonia... not AIDS. Please don't say it's a weak immune system because that is what is so misleading.

  AIDS means "acquired immune deficiency syndrome". AIDS destroys your immune system. AIDS doesn't directly kill you, when you have AIDS, the illness you develop and can't fight off kills you. If everyone with AIDS lived in a bubble free of germs then no, they would not die. But our world is filled with viruses and bacteria. Nowadays, those who contract HIV or have AIDS can have an almost normal life span thanks to medications that help slow down the progression of AIDS. They are even working on a vaccine. I don't know why you chose to not believe this exists just because it doesn't directly kill you. If you want to understand what AIDS is then take a microbiology class, then you will understand.
