How long can chlamydia Virus Survive outside the Body?

• I was wondering how long the chlamydia Virus can survive on Surfaces like a Basel Thermometer. My boyfriend and I were diagnosed Last month with the STI and both Treated we got the clear on December 1st. I would have probably had the Virus for a few months since we started being intimate in August. I bought the thermometer in September I cant remember whether if i used the Thermometer vaginally or orally a few times (would have been one or the other not both!) while i had the STI. Its been in its container for the last At least Month and a Half. I took it out yesterday without thinking of the chlamydia Virus I washed it with soap and water then did a Vaginal temp. I need to know if i should be worried that i could have possibly infected myself again by using it? I only used it for a few minutes but since we are TTC i want to be sure. Or Should i go get tested again to be safe? Thanks A lot No Negative or Rude Comments Please.

  Chlamydia lasts approximately 45 minutes outside the body, but even then, you may not have enough outside the body to actually infect someone (which is why you won't get it from a toilet seat). You are fine.
