  • This is a strange question but my dad was telling me how if you kiss somebody you can get hiv and so i was telling my friend that has kissed me about it and he was like well what about kissing every once and a while and i am scared because i dont want hiv i am still young..

  • Answer:

The virus causing HIV 1 and LAV, are NOT excreted nor do they exist in saliva. Kissing someone with HIV has nothing to do with contracting the disease, The only fluids that contain the real antigen (virus) are blood, semen, and vaginal secretions. There is no way you can get infected with the virus by kissing anybody with HIV infection, unless besides the kiss, you receive a blood donation from the same person...... Now you know....

NOPE! Your dad is lying.Only if you both have cuts on your mouth. You can get it from intercourse, blood, and sharing needles.

Here's how you can contract HIV from a kiss- You each have a cut in your mouths.

I must correct a previous answer. You CAN get HIV from oral sex because body (sexual) fluids are involved. I agree though that by kissing alone (minus mouth cuts or sores) is so minimal that it would probably never happen.

This virus is excreted in to the saliva and there is a chance of getting HIV through kissing

Your dad was either misinformed or lying. You CANNOT get HIV/aids from kissing. You have to exchange blood or sexual fluids. For example, if you get cut, and a person with HIV/aids gets cut and you both press your cuts together, then there is a possibility that you can get it. You can also get it through sex, but not oral sex. You can also get it by using the same needle as someone who has HIV/aids.

You may get AIDS by kissing but not narmally it hapens in french kiss, because during a french kiss you kiss the other so hardly and due to that the lips so that has so thin skin in our body may be cut and the blood of one can go to the other and so you may get AIDS.

For many, kissing is one of the joys of life — plus kissing someone deeply is hot, hot, hot! And you want to be safe, as well. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) considers open-mouth kissing low-risk for transmitting HIV, especially if both partners are without sores or cuts on the mouth or lips. Saliva has certain proteins that make it an extremely poor carrier of HIV. As a result, kissing, sucking, and licking the lips, mouth, and tongue are basically safe. Blood, however, is an ideal carr

It is possible if the person that you are kissing has HIV, but it's a very low possibility. Let's say you kiss somebody with HIV and neither of you have cuts or sores in your mouth and you don't kiss for a prolonged period of time (since this can cause damage to mouth/lips and allow HIV to pass from person to person)...then there's a very low chance of contracting HIV. Saliva has certain proteins that make it an extremely poor carrier of HIV.
