Can you get hpv by sitting on a toilet?

Can you get hpv virus through non sexual means, other than sitting on a toilet seat etc.?

  • Answer:

HPV is usually passed by some sort of sexual contact. A person needs to either have sex with someone who has the virus or have some sort of skin to skin contact with the area (warts). A person can NOT get HPV from sitting on a toilet seat, shower, sharing drinks or food, a pool, etc. Check out this site for more information on HPV: http://www.cdc.gov/std/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm Also, gonzo, is talking about herpes which is NOT HPV. Herpes and HPV (human papillomavirus) are two very different viruses that have nothing to do with each other.

HPV? No. Sexual contact only, mainly skin to skin contact from a carrier of this virus.

kissing or eating after someone you can get herpes

gonzo

Yes, it is very possible. I was a virgin and so was my boyfriend and I have HPV for some reason. Neither of us cheated on the other. My gynaecologist says scientists still don't know if it is only transmitted by sexual intercourse. Apparently not, since he has seen women who are in their 70's and sexually inactive get the virus while they didn't have it before.
