What is the best way to get rid of nerves before a test?

Is there are way possible to get a "False" Negative HIV test result after 5 months and a half?

  • Hi everyone; I took a few test already which 3 of them were taking as what they call "Viral load test" and already took 3 "Antibody test". The first 3 were the viral load all came Negative; My Doctor said that this kind of test pick any antibodies as soon as 2 weeks after the last risk since it is a real sensitive kind so I tooked them as follow. 1st. After a month. 2nd. After a month 1/2. 3rd. After 2 months. Then I read on the web that these type of test were NOT a confirmative type one and only the "Antibody test" were the confirmative type so I took 2 as follow which they came to be NEGATIVE as well... 1st. After 3 months (Which is the Window period for most of the populations). 2nd. After 5 months and a half. Question... Is it possible that after that last antibody test which by the way is the ICMA test can any future test due to that particular risk can come to be POSITIVE? Please let me know, I'm still scare for any "False Negative" and just trying to get this out of my Mind and not to worry about it anymore. Thanks everyone and lots of blessings.

  • Answer:

You would have a positive test within 3 months; the average time frame to wait after potential exposure to HIV is 6 weeks. If you've had all negative tests up to now....I'd say stop worrying.
