How to know if I have Herpes?

  • Hi, I am a guy and I had sex with a girl on my first date with her. After the fact, this girl kind seems like she has slept around a lot so I am just wondering if I might have gotten any STD's like herpes. Here are the facts: -It has been 3 weeks since we had sex and I have not had any visible signs of a herpes breakout or symptoms -She says she doesnt have any STD's -She didnt appear to have any symptoms of STD's or herpes -I used a condom (of course) Now I know I probably dont have Herpes, but i have read that you can still get herpes even though your sexual partner doesnt show any symptoms or you might not even show symptoms until a long while after sex (greater than a couple of months). Any advice? Should I still get tested by a doctor, or am I just being scared?

    If she doesn't have herpes and you wore a condom, you don't have herpes and did not contract it. If you had painful sores, you might have a symptom of it, but you're likely fine.

Herpes is treatable, yes I would be concerned but their are far more seriouse STD that I would be worried about. Chances are you picked up nothing at all but it does happen and I know I would feel a lot better getting checked out ASAP so if their is somthing, you can stop it.
