How can I reduce the appearance of bug bite scars?

I have a whole bunch of scars from sratching bug bites on my legs. Now I'm afraid to wear shorts. Is there any way that I can reduce their appearance, or how long does it take for the scars to disappear?

well I would have told you to use aloe vera to stop the itching but it sounds like its to late for that . some type of oinment might help. A and d ointment would probally be the best
