Why does my ear have discharge and is crusting over?
-
I got my 2nd earlobe piercing at the end of october and ever since then, both earlobe piercings have been discharging as well as crusting over ..i've had my ears pierced before and they never did this ..i'm pretty sure they're not infected because i regularly used piercing cleaner when i first got them. Only when i have earings in them, do they discharge/crust over. Any idea what it could be from or why it's happening?

Answer:
it sounds like classic allergy to the earring if it clears up without the earring. Most earrings contain nickel which is highly allergenic, however it could be another metal alloy in the earring causing allergy. I would wear plastic earrings or strings in the holes until the piercing is very very well healed, a few weeks. Then insert hypo-allergenic earrings and see how it goes.
