I think i have Pityriasis Rosea?
-
I recently got a thing that looks like ringworm but my dad said it looks more an allergy rash, i then started getting spots etc about 1 week ago.. i went to the doctor last monday and they gave me cream asking me if i have had a cold, (Which i did have for a week) a pretty bad one to. had it for 2 weeks in the end, the doctor then said it was Ringworm and the spots/rashes were from the cold.. so the cream seemed to have done nothing and then i searched 'Spots from having a cold' and i found out about Pityriasis Rosea and it was pretty interesting because this looks exactly like i have Spots/Rashes and that ringworm on my chest, the spots/rashes are on my belly chest back and now going to my biceps (arms) some on the top of my legs.. I was happy when the doctor said ringworm cause i was scared!! So i read up on Pityriasis Rosea and it looks exactly like i have.. but im still worried that even though it looks exactly the same as the pictures im seeing it might be something that could kill me.. It says it claers from 6 weeks - 3 months but what if i wait and i don't live between that? i don't feel ill or anything just randon rashes coming all over that looks exactly like Pityriasis Rosea is there any doctor here that could say if i had something that looked like Pityriasis Rosea i could die? Also don't come here i your some 12 year old / non doctor who will tell me i have Skin Cancer or im going to die in 2 weeks because those people are just begging for best answer.

Answer:
Your description is unhelpful. What type of doctor did you visit? A family physician or a board-certified dermatologist? What is the name of the prescription cream? How long have you been using the prescription? Have you been using it as instructed? If your skin condition is non-responsive to the prescription, then you should revisit your doctor for a second diagnosis or a new prescription, not resort to Yahoo! Answer for medical attention. Your description is vague at best. No one can accurately diagnose your skin condition via cyberspace. Any advice you get here is will never on par with that of a real doctor. If you want medical advice, then Yahoo! Answer is the last place you want to go and ask your question when you can see a pharmacist or doctor. The trade-off is huge: a medical physician versus a total random stranger with no knowledge of your medical history and skin condition. No honest person will tell you that s/he knows exactly what you have and give you the correct treatment protocol. That is what you call wishful thinking. If you do not know, then no one here knows, either. Bottom Line: Please see a board-certified dermatologist.
