What should I do with my scaly sunburn skin?

How can I lighten my skin from a sunburn?

  • So around a week ago I went to a camp where my schoolmates and I acquired a horrible, horrible sunburn. I'm asian, with skin that was a very bright yellow before this. Can I ask how I can get my old skin tone back? I cried for days at first because I couldn't recognise myself on the mirror, but my skin has gotten a little bit better now. The black-ish burn on my nose has peeled off, and some parts of my skin has started to too. Compared to the first two days since going home, my skintone has became more even. For now I have been applying skin cream obsessively. SebaMed at the morning and night, and Hazeline in the evening or whenever I feel my skin is getting dry. I have also bought some facial scrubs for when my skin has completely recovered, plus some Pachyrhizus erosus facial masks to apply twice a week. I also have cucumber facial masks. Do you think this will work? Can I regain my skin tone with these by September or do I need something else? I went to the beach around last July and acquired a sunburn albeit not as bad; and before I went to the camp I could still see the tan lines (well, admittedly I didn't tend to it as obsessively as I do now).

Yes it will return it's previous state, If it doesn't hurt, exfoliate it when you're showering with a loofah and body wash.

Apply aloe vera or vinegar on the affected skin; it will stop inflammation and pain. Avoid products made from benzocaine, lidocaine and petroleum jelly. Rub mustard oil on the affected skin and allow to it dry, this will take out the heat from the skin. Cut fresh cucumber slices and rub them on the affected area. Before taking bath, add some baking powder to the bath water, this will help to soothe the burnt skin. Apply lavender oil or peppermint oil on the burnt skin. Apply apple cider vinegar to the burnt skin using cotton ball. Take herbal bath; put few drops of chamomile and lavender essential oils in bath water. Take epsom salt or ice compress. Grate some potatoes and apply them on the burnt skin. Starch from the potatoes will soothe the burn.
