Are there any effective home remedies for acne scars?

I have acne scars all over my back. Some are light scars but others are deeper and red marks. Are there any effective home remedies for acne scars

Answer:
For best results, you'll want to treat your scars both internally and externally. That means you need to treat your body right so it has what it needs to repair your skin - makes sense, right? Then, treat the outside with a scar cream that contains the most important ingredients like Vitamin E and cocoa butter and skin conditioners. I liked this site's 3-step recommendations: http://www.whatimnot.com/cosmetics/acne-... When I realized that I needed to get more vitamins and sleep and water, my scars started fading much faster than with just creams. Hope that helps!

How to Eliminate and Remove Acne Scars Many people are unaware of the fact that there are many effective treatments for acne. Therefore they fail to seek early treatment. This is unfortunate, as it is only after acne has progressed from a mild or moderate stage to severe acne that there is the risk of developing acne scars. If it is possible to halt the progression of your acne in the early stages, it is best to do this since acne scars should be avoided at all cost.Sometimes acne heals itself with time, when left alone. Other times, it progresses into a more advanced, serious stage. Once acne reaches the stage where acne cysts and acne nodules are developing, there is the possibility of acne scars forming. There are a few treatments aimed at removing acne scars however still some scarring will be permanent or require regular treatment. In general, the great effects from treatments for acne scars are temporary. If your acne becomes severe, it is important to aggressively pursue treatment to halt any further progression. You should consult a doctor or a dermatologist as early as possible in order to get the correct medical advice and to gain access to the latest prescription medicine. Effective treatment, at this stage, can be the difference between ridding yourself of acne and being plagued with a lifetime of scarring. Acne spots are much larger in the severe stage, than during the mild or moderate stages. They can also be quite painful as well. All cases of acne are unique. Treatments that work perfectly for one individual can have absolutely no impact on another. The same is true for treatments for acne scarring. Acne affects the skin of every individual in a different way and each instance of scarring is unique. Therefore, acne scarring treatment is usually dealt with on a case by case basis. There are six well-known treatments for acne scarring. More often than not, a combination of treatments are used as opposed to a single treatment.Acne scars are generally treated using one or more of the following treatments; Dermabrasion, Laser Resurfacing, Chemical Peels, Punch Techniques, Subcision or Augmentation. These treatments vary in price and in effectiveness. A high price does not always mean the most success for you so weigh each option and its proven results carefully.Augmentation is when a substance is injected under an acne scar to help raise the crater-like scars that severe acne leaves. Collagen is often used for this and at times fat from other areas of the individual’s body. Collagen has only temporary results and the treatment would need to be repeated on a regular basis. Other methods such as Dermabrasion and Laser resurfacing are very expensive, however they are not always what you need and they are not always successful in treating scars.Making a decision on an acne scar treatment is tough. Try not to make a decision based on emotions but rather on facts. Think both long term and short term and most importantly, ask your doctor for all of the facts and ask him to clarify any points that are not clear to you. This will help you to make an informed decision that you are happy with.

There are at least 5 Malay traditional ways of treating acne scars. One of is to use young Indian pennywort leaves. Crush the leaves and apply to the scar area. Or a scientifically tested one is the rose hip oil. Apply the oil regularly, people found this oil works wonderfully. check http://acne-scar-treatment-s.blogspot.com

Hi Laurence, I don't know about home remedies, but here is some information on Aloe Vera and Tea Tree which may be of some help to you. The watery gel from Aloe Vera plant is a highly effective natural cure against Acne. The enzyme-rich gel has very soothing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can also be taken internally and helps clean up and detox the digestive tract. This in turn can help clear up the skin. Gel or juice of Aloe Vera is highly useful in fading of acne scars. You can grow Aloe Vera plant in your home and apply freshly taken pure Aloe Vera gel to your scar. Otherwise many branded cosmetic companies manufactures pure Aloe Vera gel, so you can choose the best cosmetic companies to get Aloe Vera gel. Vitamin A is also a natural and effective Acne cure. Vitamin A promotes healthy skin. Vitamin E also helps in countering Acne. It is a natural antioxidant and beneficial for the skin. Tea Tree Oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree from Australia. It is very effective against Acne as it contains bacteria-fighting substances called Terpenes. Acne is often caused by bacteria and the Terpenes either outright kill them or weaken them enough to be destroyed by protective antibodies. There are very little side effects from using Tea Tree Oil. well my advice to you is Don’t start any treatment for scarring until your acne is completely gone and unlikely to come back. Skin resurfacing techniques (like dermabrasion), surgical excision, and fillers have been used to diminish acne scarring for years with mixed results. Currently, laser therapy has assumed a more important role in the treatment of acne scars, and other newer surgical methods featuring light and radio waves are an option to treat your acne. you can find more usefful information and tips about acne here http://acnedestroyer.blogspot.com/

Every ones skin is different. I've been suffering with acne scars for years. People have told me many things that have worked for them, but unfortunately did not work for me. But i'll pass them on to you hoping they work. 1. Apply oatmeal (not sweetened) to your face as a mask. Let it dry completely and than remove. 2. Clean your face with Oxygen Peroxide and then with a cotton swab apply Virgin oil over your face. 3. Get a lemon put it in the microwave for a few seconds and then apply the it over your face (it'll burn and itch, that means its working) 4. Banana peel. Get te banana peel and put it on your face. (I've never really tried this one, but my friend said it worked for her and I did see results) Try these and I hope they work for you. Good luck!

They say Vitamin E (cream) but the only thing that really works is Laser Treatment. Best advice is speak to your doctor. There are plenty of different kinds of Chemical Peels for your face. To remove acne scars means you need to peel off the skin as far as the scars show. Therefore, best advice is speak to your Doctor.

I feel your pain, dude. I once heard that squeezing lemon juice directly onto it works. but I would try applying it using a paper towel or a cloth. I also heard rubbing fresh tomatoes on the scar improves the look of it. they sound weird, but they're worth a shot.
