How To Apply Makeup?

How to apply makeup (very?) naturally, even with acne? &acne skin routine?

  • So guys, I'm 13. I don't have that bad acne, but I've had it ever since I was 11. I use Merle Norman, because that's about the highest brand of makeup there is, in this small town I live in. I understand that even if I do get high quality makeup (I guess it would be considered that), It just doesn't look very natural. (I don't really wash my makeup sponge off either though which I guess I should?)Especially in the flourcent lights at school which make it look pretty horrible. I use the ultra powder foundation in Merle Norman (is this the color: ultra chiffon?) Anyways if its not, I think its ivory, or classic ivory & Mabyelline New York concealer,(only). Then I just put on my eye makeup. If you don't know about the Merle Norman powders, I apply it with a square sponge, & then when I get done go over it with a powder brush to help blend it in.(The brush I use is E.L.F professional, total face brush. (But recently I've bought another pack of brushes which contain a: blush, powder, smear, concealer, eye shadow,& eyeliner brush that I DO wash every day.) Maybe there are some cheaper brands that come in light colors that you have found AMAZING to cover acne? Now I was my face every morning (before school), & every night in the shower. (I can't stand to go to bed without washing my face, or going to school without washing my face and putting on my makeup lol weird right?) Anyways I think I really do have to wear makeup, because it really helps to look like it evens out my skin tone alot more and helps to cover my acne. DOES ANYONE PLEASE know another technique, or better yet, a better FOUNDATION/POWER something I could use to really help to cover my (not-so-bad.) acne? And could you give me some tips on what really helps on getting rid of acne if you know? I used to wash my face (every morning & night) with Clearasil Ultra, Acne+ marks wash & mask. BUT NOW, I wash my face (every morning & night) with Clean&Clear advantage 3-in-1 exfoliating cleanser. (but it seems kinda oily, & I already have not to bad but oily skin. :/) & ALSO, Loreal go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub (its in a orange, yellowish bottle. Because when I was using the Clearasil, it didn't really help make pimples go away that much just kinda kept them a little under control.& it didn't really exfoliated? It just washed. So now I have 2 exfoliating washes :p. By the way, I'm not over weight (I have high metabolism so :/) And since I'm 13 I always have racing hormones too. But I don't really exercise, & I don't drink much water or have the best diet in the world I must admit. And I don't get out much but I think I'll change that. :p I would do a lot to help me get pretty clear skin. (I don't know if this helps, but my mom (and dad a little), had acne back in there days too. SO PLEASE HELP ME OUT PLEASE!! & THANKS FOR READING! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP!! :-) :-) :-)

I tried almost every face powder on earth... The best thing I used [ and still im using ] is Eshiko. Just google it they have 100 or 60 day trial. I bought it online from eshiko.com its a very fine, nanotechnology powder with a size of one molecule of smoke. It is a Japanese manufactured face powder. It really melts in your skin to hide scars and imperfection. I absolutely loved it. Its transulcent, so it goes well with any skin tone. Think of it as your skin being covered with light refracting crystals that gives an illusion that your skin is perfect.

Honestly, a lot of people bash proactiv but I definitely reccommend it, especially for the phase your acne is at. I would take care of it now before you get a little older and it becomes worse. They have a 60 day money back gurantee if you don't like it too, so why not give it a try? As far as make-up goes the physicans formula talc free mineral foundation (it's liquid) is really good quality for drug store brands (you can get it at wal-mart) and works well. Loreal natural powder make-up I find works really well and lasts long, but doesn't give you much of a natural look. Honestly, the physicans formula makes a face powder that would probably work best for your needs. I don't like it personally, but that's because I like the matte look and don't really go for the natural apperance. It's a good product though and I think would go great with the foundation :)

First of all, just a little information about the washes you've been using. The Clearasil Ultra, Acne + Marks wash & mask and the L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub both have salicylic acid as their "anti-acne" ingredients. This is NOT actually an acne-fighting chemical. It's a pealing agent, which means it will peal the top layer or two of skin. This might help with marks, but it doesn't really do much for acne and it certainly doesn't prevent it. The Clean&Clear Advantage 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser on the other hand has benzoyle peroxide, which I am personally allergic to, and it tends to irritate people's skin easily. But it does actually help with acne. If you go to the normal doctor, their general prescription for acne is a stronger dose of this stuff. Also, I'm not sure if you're having a problem with this, but using both the Clean&Clear and the L'Oreal seems like it would irritate your skin, but if that's not a problem that's great! :) As for the makeup, I haven't used a wide range of makeups, but what I use and the way I use it works really well. :) I use Neutrogena's Skin Clearing line of makeup - the foundation and the cover up (the foundation is in a square bottle and the cover up is in a sort of tube-pen thing). These.. aren't actually "skin clearing" though. They also have the salicylic acid, which like I said before, doesn't really help with acne. But it's the only makeup I've tried that didn't make me break out, and it covers really well. I put on the foundation first (since you'll be wearing it most of the day, you may want to start using moisturizer daily since salicylic acid can be kind of drying, but make sure the moisturizer is non-comedogenic. CeraVe is good). Since I don't like touching my makeup I use an old empty one of the cover up stick/pens whatever to put it on, but it doesn't really matter. When I first put it on it's pretty uneven and maybe a little too much, but then I use a brush (I think any one of those round powder brushes would do) to spread it around until it blends evenly. Then I put the cover up on any spots that are still discolored, and just dab at them with my finger to blend it. If it's still showing after it's blended, put on another little dab and leave it for a minute or two, and then blend it again when it's more dry. I don't know if you have this problem, but I get bags under my eyes, so for that I use Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller, which over time actually helps with bags. Usually I put on too much (that's usually how I do all my makeup. haha put on too much and then take away) and I put it on under my eye and on my eyelid just so it will be even, and then just spread it evenly till it's all blended. (But you may not need the eye roller, and if your acne really isn't bad then you probably only need the foundation and not the cover up.) And then I go over it all with Revlon Photo-Ready Powder: transparent. I don't know how dark or light your skin is, so you might want to go with a different shade. I just use transparent because most makeups tend to be kind of orangy on my skin, and the transparent is light enough to cover that. Anyway, I put that on my whole face (generously) to even things out and then after I take a wet paper towel and just dab my face with it. Then just let it dry. This helps it look less powdery and fake. I've got pretty bad acne, but with this method I manage to make my skin look clear, and I've been told several times that I look like I'm not even wearing makeup. :) And also, exercising and eating better and drinking more water would definitely help. Not just your skin but your heath in general. Maybe just try going for a jog every now and then. I find that if I get in a routine of exercise, I end up wanting to eat better, and it really makes me feel better. :) Genes are also a big part of it though, and if both your parents had acne, you can go ahead and blame them for you trouble. haha But hormones are also a major factor. This is a slightly awkward topic (and I'm assuming you're a girl based on the make up description) but if your period isn't regular yet then chances are you're stuck with the acne for now. Once it regulates though your hormones will start to calm down and your acne will probably improve. :) And if you get older and it gets worse, like really worse, I highly recommend going to a dermatologist. Regular doctors don't know squat about treating acne. :P

Niacinamide face cleansing pads are effective and simple way to keep acne away. Just place a pad on the pimple and watch it fade away. Lavender Oil helps prevent skin drying. Niacinamide pads are also known as Vitamin B3 pads or Nicotinamide pads. Give them a try and you will be pleasantly surprised. Niacinamide also helps reduce skin hyperpigmentation (Acne scars).
