I have dry, flaky skin under my eyebrows and around my nose.Is there anything I could do to cure it w/o a Prescription The dry skin is all under my eyebrow, on and around my nose, where my ears meet my face, in my ears- in all the crevices. I just recently started having this problem about a month ago. Before my skin was just slightly dry- now its getting worse. It almost seems like it is spreading in a sense. Because it started with some flaky skin under my eyebrows and then a noticed I had dry skin in my ear and now my nose? I can't get to a doctor until march are there any home solutions or over the counter products you know that can fix this?

Sounds to me like sebhorreic dermatitis. One possible cause of this can be the same culprit which is responsible for dandruff in hair, namely a type of yeast which lives off the oil in your skin. Try using anti-dandruff shampoo such as Head & Shoulders; when washing your hair, wash the lather around your face (keeping your eyes shut, of course, when massaging your brows). Wait for a few seconds before thoroughly rinsing. (Anti-dandruff shampoos often fail to work because people rinse it out too quickly, not giving it time to work.) Hopefully your skin will get better within about a month.

it could be a deficiancy in some vitamins/minerals so check your diet that your eating enough fruit / vegtables aand drinking enough water :) fish oil tablets may also help . in the meantime you could try putting vasiline on the dry areas of skin . good luck ! p.s if symptoms dont improve go and see your doc to check its not something else .

Try using 100% cocoa butter (not lotion). You want to get the expensive kind that comes like a paste, usually found in bath and body stores. Cocoa butter naturally hydrates and repairs excessively dry skin. I'm not sure if you can put it in your ears, though. Sorry.

Try cocoa butter! It's never failed me. Look in drug stores, dollar stores, or Wal-Mart. You'll find it in the hand lotions section. The very best is the 100% pure cocoa butter that comes in a small white tube. You can apply it right from the tube, or rub some on your fingertips & then apply it right where you need it. Use just enough to make the dry patches seem to disappear; if you use too much, it may clog your pores & cause pimples. Be sure to use 100% pure cocoa butter for best results! Many products say cocoa butter on the label, but often have a lot of water & other ineffective ingredients & very, very little cocoa butter. So read the label! (Don't wear it to bed, as it will leave greasy marks on your pillowcase.)
