I once saw Brooke Shields on T.V. talking about this back when she was a teenager. She said she put Vaseline on her lips every night before bed, and then reapplied a thin coat of it in the morning. After the reapplication, she scrubbed it off with an old toothbrush and the dead skin came with it, without hurting. She said it only took about a week for her lips to be gorgeous again. You could give it a shot...it's a cheap fix, anyway.

I used to do that when I was a little kid, but somehow I stopped myself. Just put chapstick on to reduce the flaking of your lips!

You can try getting acryllic nails - they are long and thick so you really can't get ahold of that dead skin to peel it off. Keep getting those nails done for months until the urge has left you. You could get that stuff (liquid) to put on nails to prevent biting of your nails. Even though you don't bite your nails, the stuff is bitter and if it gets on your lips that might help you not do it. Keep using lip balm constantly if that helps you not do it. Last option I can think of is getting some sort of therapy where they may somehow be able to help you stop.

what i do to take care of my lips is i always use chapstick first of all, everytime i brush my teeth, i also brush my lips, just to get the dead skin off, then afterward, more chapstick, its been working great for years and i get compliments on my lips all the time, that theyre soft & a nice color. U should try it. Make sure u dont brush too hard tho! With warm water and just enough where u dnt feel the dead skin on there anymore. & yea sometimes mine bleed.

well.....or skin acts really sensitive....never lick ur lips in the cold season cos this evaporates ur moisture n keep ur lips dry ...n therefore u start peeling them....use a lipbalm without any colour or flavour...n keep try not to lick ur lips......once in a week is a lip peeling ok with the tip point of the towel...

Try some Ayurvedic paste or herbal products as the lips are the most sensitive. And drink lots of water all the time.Do'nt bother about lips forget it.as if we concentrate on any part we just get concious so avoid being concious to lips.

yuk! I do this too sometimes! Try using Blisteze. Its really good at remoisturising lips. Better than vaseline or lip balm by a mile!
