How to remove scar caused by surgery?
-
I got a mole removed 7 months ago, but the scar is stil there. It's probably smaller than a dime, but it's really bothering me and I feel selfconscious because of it and I think it looks more noticeable because I have brownish skin and it's pinkish (still a little bumpy, not flat). It's on my neck and I can't take it anymore, I'll do anything even surgery. I heard you can't totally get rid of scars, but can you tell me how much of it will be gone and how much it will cost? I'll try to save money and get rid of it anyway I can. Thank You :D

Answer:
⥠⥠you really cant remove a scar by any other means than surgery which makes more scars.. but maybe that one would be smaller.. and only a plastic surgeon can tell you what you want to know ⥠â¥

Try Mederma. -or- Rub onion juice on it. -or- Get Vitamin E Oil (found at Walgreens by the lotions). -or- Get Vitamin E capsules and squeeze the fluid inside the capsules onto the scar.

Mederma skin cream is excellent for treating all types of scars, even old ones. It can be found in the first aid isle of any drug store. It`s a little expensive, but it really works. I have used it on scars on my arm, and stretch marks. It won`t make the scar go away completely, but it will reduce it significantly. Only laser surgery can make scars go away completely.

you should go talk to a plastic surgent...or the person who removed your mole.

it might not be removable and u shouldve done something sooner (i.e. put water and vinegar on it and put neosporin on it)

You can have scar revision, which is usually covered by insurance. One procedure is called z plasty and works really well, I just had that procedure done on a scar I had on my eye, it's been 2 weeks post op and it's getting much better. I also use Palmer's Scar Serum and 100% Cocoa Butter and Mederma. I know it's a bit much but it helps. It also helps to massage the scar with lotion, my plastic surgeon recommended Elta Lite lotion, it helps to smooth the scar and flatten it. I hope this helps. You can see a plastic surgeon, most of them offer free consultations so you have nothing to lose. If you're near the Alexandria, LA area I strongly recommend Dr. Sozen 318-473-9003 he's one of the best in the business. Happy New Year.

The best way is taking a vitamin E capsule and pucture it with a needle and rub it on the scar...it will help the skin repair and decrease the scar size and color.

It's called "abrasion" surgery or get a tattoo. I don't know what the cost would be.

Probably surgery. Not always, but it is a means of getting rid of scars.
