How do you know if you have cystic acne?

Would everyone here just like to know how to get rid of bad acne?

• I don't feel like posting this under every acne question so here, just take my free advice. I went to the doctor and asked her about acne treatments. It's different for a lot of people, but she prescribed a retinol cream for me to put on at night. I have always had pretty bad acne, so I figured it was worth a shot. Her one tip was this: do it for 100 days straight. It takes a while to work, and could get worse, but by 100 days it should be clear. So I did it, and you know what, around day 40 or so my face was a MESS. It was DISGUSTING. I had acne EVERYWHERE, way worse then before. But I stuck with it. By day 100 my face was clear and it's been that way every since. That was last year. That is my experience, just so you all don't have to waste a question or answer.
