Why do I have dry skin on my eyelids?
-
A few days ago I started getting really dry skin on my eyelids, mainly in the arch between my eyes and eyebrows, on the side of the nose. It's not just dry... it's scabbed over and I can peel layers of skin off. Does anyone know what's causing it?

Answer:
As it's recent, have you switched or added new products that you use on face and hair? Different sun screen? Many products contain severe skin irritating and damaging ingredients. So one by one check and see if that is the cause. Shampoos which contain some of the harshest ingredients get on facial skin and can harm it (and eyes). Could that be the culprit? To alleviate, apply a natural oil like olive oil - its a safe natural healer and moisturizer. And massage where you can, gently stroke eyelids with it and then remove with moistened tissue to avoid getting in eyes.

Oh my goodness, that's the same with me, but its been going on for Weeks!!! I usually lightly rub off any bits hanging off, then get some moisturising skin cream and dab a bit on and then leave it which helps a little. Personally I think it may be exma, perhaps due to the changes in weather like you said. I'm sure it won't stay there forever!!!

I have had a similar problem the last couple of summers but not sure why, i've wondered if it could be caused by air conditioning cos it was quite bad when i worked in a shop with air con then when i left it got better, or it might be caused by hay fever as my eyes do get kinda runny.

I was getting this every summer until someone told me it could be due to hay-fever drying out my eyes and me rubbing them constantly without realising, Now I take hay-fever tablets every day during summer and haven't had a problem since. Might work for you to, Good luck
