• How to get rid of acne pigmentation? I have this mositurizer which is called Alpha Hydroxy. It has salycic acid in it. It heard this can help spped up the process of getting rid of acne marks. I only apply on the marks and it stings a little. Is this ok?? Please advise....Thanks!!!

  Alpha hydroxy should help get rid of the pigmentation over time. It does usually sting a little. Be careful to not use too much of it or too often, and stay out of the sun when you are using it. There are a few things you can try, but not in combination with the alpha hydroxy. According to the Dr. Oz show on TV, petroleum jelly - simple vaseline - is as good as any other more expensive treatment for scars. So I would give that a try for at least a few months before trying anything more expensive. Nothing works quickly. Whatever you try, you will need to use it for a long time to see any effect. Apply cocoa butter, shea butter, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, castor oil, or rose hip oil to the scars. Try a cream such as Mederma, which is designed to treat scars. (Any cream that is designed to get rid of scars will work.) It can take up to six months before you see any significant idifference. Talk to your dermatologist about Retin-A topical creams which can reduce the appearance of scars. Retinal creams encourage the growth of new cells. Retin-A requires a prescription. Start dermabrasion treatments which basically buff saway the top layers of your skin. With repeated treatments, you should an improvement.
