What is clindamycin phosphate gel used for?

How do i use clindamycin phosphate topical gel and clindamycin phosphate topical lotion?

• I was prescribed clindamycin phosphate topical gel and clindamycin phosphate topical lotion (both of them) and am not sure how to use them. i think i am supposed to use the lotion in the shower and the gel all day but i am not sure and i need some instructions. so basically i need to know how and when to use them, and another thing, can i use them on my back. more info that could help: i am 15, my acne is sever, i am not using any other acne product, i was prescribed this my my dermatologist. any help will be wonderful, thanks!

  Both are intended to be left on the skin. Both can be used up to twice daily to any area that is prone to acne. Do not use as spot treatment, but to all the acne prone areas. They are similar and you probably don't need both unless the doc intended you to use one to the face and another to the body. So call the doc and ask what they intended. You can just use up one then the other and ask for a refill of the one you liked better.
