Everytime I get bitten by a mosquito, I get large lumps. Does anyone else have this problem? How can I solve?

I used to get this when I was a kid. You are just more sensitive to mosquito bites than the average person. Use ice to help reduce the swelling.

This is a perfectly normal reaction to a mosquito bite. When a female mosquito (the only kind that bites) penetrates the skin, it leaves a small amount of saliva to stop the blood clotting in her food canal. The body is not reacting to the bite, but instead the saliva. Most people experience an allergic reaction to the saliva injected. Most bites wear away in several hours, however some people are highly sensitive, keeping the welts for days. If you scratch the bite, bacteria from your fingernails can infect the area, causing more problems.

Avoid perfume and smelly lotions. Mosquitos really hate Skin So Soft from Avon. The lump is normal though. Don't itch it!! Just try to repel the bug in the first place.

I do too, you are allergic to them. Eat garlic and or basil and stay away from OFF it is poison. Go to a health food store and get buzz away or ask them what they have. These are essential oils and safe for children.. If you do get a bite, there is oils to stop the itching too.

do you mean a large lump where you got bitten or all over I get large bumps where i get bitten but not anywhere else if you get them anywhere else then you might be allergic to them

yes i do in fact many people do dont skrach it but on some cream

thats normal. the area gets swollen because its infected and the body is fighting it off.

I know lots of people, myself included, who has that problem. It is absolutely normal. It's just a small infection from being bitten. Some poeple get bigger bumps, like my friend, which means they are slightly more allergic to the bites. It's pretty much like any other bug bit. You'll get a big bump with possibly some redness and itching. It will go away. I don't know how to stop that from happening. But I know that if you put ice on it, it will ease the itching and swelling faster. There are also many over the counter medicines that are meant for mosquito bites.

You are probably overly sensitive to their saliva.... When they bite they inject a little solution to keep the blood from coagulating. I love a product you should be able to get at the drug store or WalMart it's called After Bite. It comes in a tube and contains ammonia.... As soon as you see a the first sign of welt from a bug bite, shake the tube and apply some of the liquid to the bite. It some how nuetralized the bite and it won't itch. It doesn't help to use after the bite becomes a bump.... it needs to be applied on the initial welt.
