Why are my hands always cold?

Why're my feet and hands ALWAYS cold?

  • My sister used to have a teacher and she always noticed how cold our feet and hands are. Our teacher said she thought we had a disease, because it was 'not normal'. I dunno, it's probably not serious, but... Me and my sister have extremely cold hands and feet. The rest of our body warmth circulates through our body but it doesn't go through our hands I guess. My friends always grab my hands and go 'Holy ****, Lindsy, your hands are so cold! Why're they so colddd!?' And I never have an answer. Even if I'm under a blanket my hands and feet are still cold. ):

  • Answer:

I asked one of the girls in my class who is a genius why my feet would always be cold and she said that i probably have poor circulation in my feet. and i did put this in mind. your blood has to travel all the way down to your feet from your heart..but i don't know. Hope this helped :D

I get the same problem too.. I am skinny but I don't eat or exercise much.. I'm told that it is because I have poor circulation from not exercising much, but I have had this problem my entire life, to the point where if my hands are NOT colder than my body, I feel overheated (even if I'm not really particularly hot). As long as my hands are cooler than the rest of my body, I feel fine. I wouldn't worry. Especially if your sister has it, it might be something genetic like lesser circulation.

It probably just means that you have low blood pressure. This can be a problem if it's VERY low, but there's quite a range; I'm also one of those people with unusually cold hands and feet, but my doctor says it's fine. If it starts to interfere with your everyday activities (like I had a friend who was an artist and couldn't draw because her hands were so cold), see a doctor. However there's a normal range, so if you don't have any problems it's nothing to worry about. :)

Oh dude, I know you already pretty much have a general idea of what's going on but that happens to me alllll of the time too. It's funny because my temperature is always like 99 degrees and I always feel really hot to the touch, just everywhere. My hands and feet are always cold though. I was at a bonfire with my friends and we live in AZ so it doesn't get too cold or anything like that but I didn't have a jacket and I mean I was pretty cold but I was walking around and my arms, even though they were cold, didn't FEEL cold when you touched them.. my hands though.. they were like ICE people were like STOP TOUCHING ME! It was kind of sad really but yeah. I don't know, I don't exercise either and I get that thing where when I stand up from lying down my vision goes black for a second. Well my doctor told me that it was because my muscles weren't pumping the blood around fast enough. Pretty much from being so out of shape. I'm skinny too though, I just don't DO anything. Maybe that's why.

me too...would love to know why!!!!

This is a clear cut sign of poor circulation within the blood flow system.... there are any number of things that can be causing this... and, a thorough psychical exam should be able to come up with some very distinct answers for you... it could possibly be something that could be corrected with nothing more than a slight change in diet ....

you just have poor circulation, this can be caused from low blood pressure or bad arteries. if its low blood pressure, eating a few more salty foods and increasing your salt intake a bit could help fix that up.

Could be a blood circulation problem

RS

It's due to poor blood circulation.
