How do you treat a sore toe due to an ingrown nail?

What is the best way to treat an ingrown toe nail that's been around for 11 months?

  • My wife about 11 months ago had my brother step on her feet, and since she's had ingrown toe nails on both feet since. We've been to her doctor a couple of times to suggest what to do, but my wife is afraid of pain, and doesn't want to do the freezing with the needles and the cutting. So she's tried to do the whole soak-the-toe and cut the toe nail when its out, but it doesn't seem to help. It's been infected for the last 9 months, and she's been through 6 rounds of antibiotics and continues to refuse getting them fixed surgically. Is there any other options at this point?

  • Answer:

No. Your wife is being unreasonable about the needles because for a few SECONDS of discomfort while they inject the numbing medication will clear up discomfort she has had FOR 9 MONTHS!
