How to know if your ingrown toenail is getting better?

I have a cyst under my toenail and getting it removed i need information?

• hi I am 15 yrs old and a dancer i also take pointe. i have a cyst under my toenail and am getting it removed. The cyst has lifted up my toenail and caused the other side to become ingrown. The podiatrist said that she is taking the whole toenail and cutting the cyst out and i will need stiches. i would like more information and like to know if anyone has had to deal with something like this and what their experience with it was.

  You will be fine. First they will give you a numbing shot in the toe. Slight burning maybe, then they will remove the toenail with a special pair of scissors. They will cut open the cyst site with scalpel, remove it. Send the cyst of to be tested. Suture the site, most likely with dissoluble sutures, it will heal and you will dance all night long. No pain at the time time of removal, but a little sore after. I do this at least once a month.
