  • So about 5 years ago when I was in like 6th grade I had this surgery. It was on my leg on the inside of my thigh and I ended up with this big ugly scar. Its about 11 inches long, from my knee up and its so ugly. I was really skinny back then so the surgeon didn't have much skin to work with, so its like a huge patchwork frankensteiny type thing with skin moved around, sewn back together in random patches. And to make it worse the skin around it is lumpy even after several years, like the fat got squished around. Im not exaggerating, all the ugliest scars I've ever seen don't compare to mine. Now I'm 15. Im a girl. I can pretty much not wear anything shorter than my knees or my scar will show. its really annoying not to be able to wear shorts, short skirts or a bikini in the summer AT ALL. I have no tan much higher than my knees b/c Ive been wearing knee-length board shorts over my swimsuit since the surgery. At soccer I feel self conscious b/c i'm the only one wearing long basketball shorts, it still doesn't help when I'm stretching it still shows and I have to kind of cover my leg awkwardly with my hand. And the sad thing is I'm actually pretty attractive but this one part of me just makes me feel ugly! Is there anything I can do to get rid of my big fat ugly scar help its ruining my life! Please don't just say 'its never going to go away ur just gonna have to live with it' cuz I don't want to think of going the rest of my life with a creepy ugly leg It just depresses me.

    oh man that really sux, and i know exacly how u feel, i have vitiligo scars and they are white, like u can see them a mile away of i dont put anything on it, they are whiter then my teeth ive had them since i was like 5 i grew up with that in my head, one time i was in athletics and my smart self wanted to be brave n not wear sweat pants, so we did this exersice wer another girl had to hold ur legs like wer the shin-pads go and thats exacly wer my vitiligo is, it was the most embarrasing moment, i felt so ugly and discusting. When i was out of high school i started tanning... my legs were dark but my vitiligo scars still show, so i discovered this tanning spray that solved my horrible problem, and i know that being pretty and having that **** doesnt help any, ppl that dont have the problem are never going to understand so dnt listen 2 ppl that tell u not to let it get to u cuz i know it will regardless, ignorants are going to ask all the dam time "what happened?" oo stare, specially if ur pretty its gna make ugly girls feel better then u even if ther not.. (experience) well anyways, i found it at waltmart, or you can also google it to see how it looks, its water resistant not enough for u to go to the lake so dnt wer a bathin suit it wont stay for very long if ur jumping in the water, its called "Airbrush Legs" its a brown skin color little bottle, make sure you tan first or apply as it says all over ur legs so the color can be even; -there is diff colors make sure pik out the rightone its 3 color, very light, tan or super dark--when i put in in my scars i dont rub it i just spray it and let it dry. i set an appt with a dermatologist after so many yrs, my appt is next month hopefully a surgery will help me, talk to a dermatologist, he should b able to answer u if u can get rid of it or not... find one that doesnt charge for the first consutation. hope i helped good luck girl

honestly if you dont care about it-noone else will, if you act like its nothing, people will think of it as the same thing otherwise state it like its a positive -like you're so brave for going through just a big surgery or somethingg if you really are freaked about it though-try covering it in makeup-thats all i can think of and if -later on in life-you get a cut or something and you know it might scar up-try using paterolium jelly (vasteline) on it, just rub some one--it keeps the skin soft or something-but overall lessens the appearance of a TO-BE scar -basicly it allows it to heal better than it would (above will not help with an existing scar) HOPE THIS HELPED! <3

That sounds like just about the worst scar anybody could ever have! I think you should treat it with Vitamin E cream or gel or Scarzone.
