Is it impossible to spread a virus through Mosquito bites?

Am I full of mosquito bites?

  • My friends and I were sitting around a campfire last Saturday night. My friends used bug spray and I didn't. Now, the area around my ankles is FULL of bites that appear to be mosquito bites. They itch terribly...there must be a good 50 bites per ankle area. My friends have the same thing (and they used bug spray). Its like they are appearing by themselves. I don't remember even getting bit that night. What's going on? Are these really mosquito bites? Or it is some strange virus/disease?

  • Answer:

YOu don't have mosquito bites you have chigger bites. They are much smaller but they itch like a SOB and are hard to get rid of. A home remedy is to rub the affected area with nail polish remover twice a day until the itching subsides and you see no more fresh bites. Chiggers are microscopic and attach themselves to you skin and continue to feed on your blood. If the polish remover doesn't work, contact a dermotoligist for a more potient cure, usually in the form of a cream. Good luck, feel better :o)

It sounds like they chigger bites. Get some over the counter Histacort (cortisone/benedryl ointment) itching should be gone within about 3 days. I saw on the news that current extremely dry hot weather is causing the chigger population to expand greatly. Good luck!

go to the store and buy anti itch cream and wear a long sleeve and pants......thats the way to do it....

they probably are mosquito bites. just cleanse the area with a mild soap, and put rubbing alcohol on them.

yeah

if its bites, put some vicks vapor rub on them, should ease the itching, or, you might have gotten into some poison ivy or sumac, then you need some calamine lotion.

They probably are mosquito bites. The reason you don't feel them while you are getting them is because the mosquito injects a local anesthetic before she partakes of your blood. Try using either Calamine lotion or any kind of hydrocortisone cream to ease the itching.

It may be mosquito9o bites but also can be sand frees and other bugs that live in the ground and grass. Sand flees are quite common and many repellents do not work on them. sulfur is the Best repellent for the sand flees.
