Could I be allergic to benzoyl peroxide?

I am having an allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide! Please help!?

• A while back, i used clearsil ultra, who's main ingrediant is benzoyl peroxide. My face became EXTREMELY blochy, red, puffy, itchy, and had a complete burning sensation. I dont remember what made it happen, or how i got rid of it. Yesterday (last night), i used proactiv and the main ingrediant (active ingrediant) was benzoyl peroxide. Well, this morning, i woke up, and again, my face was red, blochy, itchy, puffy, and i had a burning sensation. I definitly know it is an allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide. My question is: What can i do to make it go down. It is about 5 PM right now, and i used cold compresses with icy, water with baking soda, and it went down a little, but the burning sensation is still there. I sort of want to stay away from lotions, but do you have any treatments or anything that will make the swelling, puffiness, red , burning sensation go away? Sorry for so much info, hope i get an answer soon :) :)

  I have exactly the same problem going on right now! And I came here to get answers haha! I use this gel called Rozex, which seems to help a bit. When it happens I also take a Telfast or Clarityne or whatever anti histamines I've got to help it. But other than that, to keep it from itching I just put an ice pack on my face. I hate when this happens! I first found out that I was allergic to benzoyl peroxide I was using Benzac, but didn't get the reaction for like 5 months (weird, I know) and so I stopped using that. But last night I ran out of my neutrogena spot gel so I used my sister's clearasil not knowing that it had benzoyl peroxide and now my whole face is red and itchy!
