Gels are topical medications. They take a long time to be absorbed into the skin and their effect stops the moment the gel is washed off. Acne is caused by many different conditions. Find out the cause of your acne. At this moment you are working on the assumption that your acne is due to obstructed glands. If this was the case then cleansing and steam should have worked. It is probable that the couse is different in your case. Possible causes of your acne may be any of the following: Hormonal, gentics, environmental, stress, bacteria, allergens, food sources or idiopathic causes.
