Red bumps on toddlers face?
-
My toddler has developed red pimple looking bumps around his mouth and chin. It started about a week ago. He's been fighting some head congestion also, and both me and his father have developed extrememly sore throats, though i don't know if its related.. any ideas?

Answer:
If your child has this rash while he's fighting a virus, more than likely the rash is viral in nature and should disappear once his head congestion, cold, etc., disappears. His body will end up fighting the virus and the rash will go away on its own.

Mine occasionally gets little tiny red bumps like that, seems like it's from just being wet under her pacifier. Goes away on it's own in a day or so.

Ever heard about the shingles? (varicella-zoster virus). Look up and see if the symptoms fit. He'll be alright within a week if it's the shingles, take him to see a doctor. Watch out for measles too, but if it's just a few red bumps i don't think that'd be it.

THERE IS A CHILDHOOD DISEASE CALLED "HAND-MOUTH-FOOT"- IF HE IS NOT WANTING TO EAT...AND HAS ANY BUMPS ON HANDS, FEET, IN MOUTH, THIS COULD BE IT. OR IT COULD BE AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO SOME KIND OF FOOD. CALL YOU PED. AND MAKE THE APPT. GOOD LUCK.

Sounds like the family needs to see the Dr. and make it today! Mom and Dad sound like Strep throat, and the little gut is having a reaction to something in his environment, maybe the medication or he got into something. Please see your Dr. today, as this is not something you want to wait on.

My god People, what about acne. Yeah that's right they get acne. Hand foot and mouth is inside the mouth not on the face. Shingles is unrealistic. So is measles and chicken pox because they are vaccinated for them.

You should take him to the Dr because as a mother of 3 I can tell you there are so many things that it could be, with out seeing it it's hard to tell you what it is or what it could be.
