How do you get rid of spider veins?

How do i get rid of broken veins in my legs? aka spider veins?

  • I'm only 13 and i have them. I weigh 112 pounds, 5 feet tall. excersise every day. its genetic in my family, but how can i slow its "growth?"

  • Answer:

It is highly unusual to have spider veins at 13 despite your genetic predisposition. The most optimal solution is to see a doctor. Use a topical preparation containing dexamethasone or an equivalent steroid to contain the spider veins. You can also use elastic stockings to improve healing time. Good luck.

Cause The problem you have is caused when the valves in your veins become weaker from having to hold all that blood up (or in your case, a genetic thing) and some blood flows downwards, opposite the direction of the bloodstream. It's no problem but it causes the veins to bulge a little. Solution There's no way to get rid of them unless you decide to put on a few pounds and cover them up, which I don't think is a good sacrifice (-: . Another option is to get them surgically amputated, but only old people really do that. A way to slow the process down is to sit down more and not to stand up as much as standing up makes your blood fall back down more often, thus increasing the size of your veins. I have the exact same problem and it's not much of a problem - I barely ever notice them.
