Random nose bleeds, what does it mean?

What does occasional nose bleeds mean?

• In the past 3 weeks I have been having daily nose bleeds, some days 2-3 times a day. My nose bleeds randomly like while I'm sleeping or while I'm eating, all of a sudden it starts bleeding. It also bleeds at the slightest bit of touch. It has always been bleeding from the right nostril, but today when I was eating, it bled from left nostril for the first time. Is it serious? I'm 18 if it helps

  The frequency of your nosebleeds would not qualify them as occasional. What's changed? It could be a change in the weather, heat turned on, allergies, trauma to the nose. If it's weather related, try a humidifier or vaporizer to add moisture to the air. You might also want to try a nasal saline spray to moisten the nasal cavity. If the nosebleeds continue, time to call the doctor to rule out anything more serious.
