Will my smoking show on xray?

  • i started smoking about two years back, first year was a social smoker.. from the next year onwards i started smoking almost ten per day. i nedd to take an xray now, will it b detected?

    The only time smoking shows up on a chest x-ray is after years of usage in the form of COPD or Emphysema (Your lungs will be drooping and longer and have a barelled out look). Put ya you should probably quit to avoid that ever having a chance of happening!

No, smoking does not show on an x ray until it's caused damage. But do not wait for that to happen before you stop smoking because then it's too late. God bless.

X-rays don't usually show soft tissue but there could also be deposits in your bones from smoking.
