How do you get rid of post nasal drip completely?

• I went on vacation and got sick, when I came back I had post nasal drip. It has caused me to wake up with a stuffy nose and to have halitosis. I need it to go away fast! Any over the counter meds or natural remedies that will get rid of it completely? Thank you!

  Post nasal drip is really the pits, and the only things I know to do are: Use a saline spray in your nose. Not Afrin or a decongestant, but a regular nasal spray that only contains saline. It's pretty cheap at any drugstore. This will help decongest your nose and moisturize your mucous membranes. Gargle with warm salt water. Put a teaspoon of salt in a glass of water and heat it in the microwave for about 30 seconds or so. Lean your head way back and gargle that stuff. It will help clear the crap out of your throat. Also, swish the salt water around your mouth and it will help clean out your mouth as well. Drink as much water as you can stand -- think in terms of GALLONS. This will help wash any crap in the back of your throat out, as well as thin drainage so that it will drain much better. You may also want to brush your tongue along with your teeth and that will help the halitosis. You can't completely get rid of post nasal drip but I hope these tips help. Good luck!
