Is it normal to have fever after a cold?

Low grade fever after cold, or possible swine flu?

  • I had a sinus like cold with coughing and sinus pain, headache etc... no fever or vomiting. My son had all the symptoms of swine flu and was given tamiflu. He was sicker then I've ever seen him but recovered fast after the meds. About as soon as I started getting better I started a fever up to 103.2. No other symptoms really, other then regular fever aches and pains. Could this be an infection? I've been reading online about calling your doctor if you start getting better but then start a fever again. What if you hadn't had a fever during the other symptoms? Or could I just be having a delayed fever?

  • Answer:

Sorry to say, but whatever you have, I have it too. I'm almost 100% sure I have the swine flu. It's just like a regular cold mixed with the regular flu, with added aches and pains. I haven't had a fever yet. I've only been sick for 4 days now. I refuse to go to the doctor because people there are actually sick, and I don't think I'm THAT bad. My MIL (who I live with) had the swine flu last week, and she's still recovering from it. She unknowingly exposed the whole house to it... including my 3 month old daughter. But since I'm still breastfeeding, she hasn't had any of the symptoms. I'd say call the doctors office... tell them everything you said here, and they'll most likely prescribe you something. They did for my MIL at least. Good luck, and get better!
