Do I have bad breath if I have tonsillitis?

No tonsillitis in my throat but breath stinks as if there still was?

  • I did find one white thing in the back of my throat two days ago, but it's no longer there. My breath still stinks like as if there was still stuff in my throat but it's fine. Can someone help me get rid of this, it's incredibly emberessing. Give me some home remedies to get rid of it.

  • Answer:

I know exactly what you are talking about! You find white(ish) accumulations in the slits at the very back of your mouth at the opening to your throat. It is bacteria and accumulated food particles that are trapped crypts of the palatal tonsils. They are called tonsilloliths or tonsil stones. Some people use oral irrigators to help flush them out. I personally before I had my tonsils removed used to use a q-tip or my finger after I had washed them really well to push them out. I had to deal with for a few years before my tonsillectomy. Make sure you check both side of your mouth just because you may not see it does not mean there is not anything there. And be prepared to do that every so often to help rid any build up. Best of luck
