Can green vegetables cause blood clots?
-
My mom is currently in the hospital for having multiple blood clots, when her doctor asked her if she has been eating any green vegetables lately which she is, they told her not too as the medicine they are giving her will slow down the process and possibly make things worse. She has to take the medicine for 6 months, so 6 months without green veggies hmmm.

Answer:
Maybe it's because green leafy vegetables have vitamin K in them and vitamin K is necessary for clotting (so you don't bleed to death). So maybe because she has these blood clots, they want to make sure her blood doesn't clot at all right now. Green Veggies are very healthy. She probably has other health risks that have caused the blood clots. No green veggies? That's strange, read the following link for more info http://www.clotcare.com/vitaminkandwarfarin.aspx
