What might be causing my itchy inner ear?

What is causing this sound in my ear?

  • Ok so about a month ago my left ear was blocked with wax so I used audiclean for a few days and now hearing not really a ringing sound but like the sound of waves in my ear. It comes and goes though. I've been to the doctor and had the wax syringed out and he said it's not infected but I'm still hearing this noise. Any ideas on what it could be?

  • Answer:

It could be tinnitus. Tinnitus may be caused by allergy, high or low blood pressure (blood circulation problems), a tumor, diabetes, thyroid problems, injury to the head or neck, as well as a variety of medications including anti-inflammatory medicines, antibiotics, sedatives, antidepressants, and aspirin. Colds and flu, noisy environments, allergy flare-ups can increase the intensity of tinnitus noise AND Excessive ear wax . try sound therapy like going out and listen to rainfalls, ocean waves, humming, chants, wind sounds. or also meditation and yoga. Stress relief and relaxation therapies are helpful in easing the discomfort and pain of tinnitus. Massage applied to the head, neck and chest is suggested. hope it helps :-)
