Emergency treatment; Sit baby up on your lap whilst sitting in a steamed up bathroom. Arrange tranport to the nearest hospital. Although there could be a variety of causes including simply an cold, another cause could be Coeliac Disease. A Paediatrician is required (urgently) as anything affecting breathing is dangerous and should not be messed around with.

You can buy a bulb syringe to suction the mucus out of her as often as possible (http://www.goldenhourmed.com/images/A51C-2.jpg). Make sure you lay the baby on her side or stomach so that the drainage doesn't go into her throat when she is asleep. She probably has a cold or something, so some over-the-counter baby-safe cold medicine may help (you can run to an Eckerd or CVS, tell them she has so much mucus and they can recommend some). If nothing seems to help, you should visit a doctor. But this is very normal. Try the suction bulb, it really helps. You should be able to get it just about anywhere.

Make her drink something.

you might try a humidifier, you too might try taking your baby to the doctor,it might be something more serious like strp throat.Lay the baby on his/her side so it might not choke

Try suctioning her nasal passages...these drain to her throat anyway. Use one of those bulb syringe things. They are usually blue. Otherwise..depending on her age..I would take her in to see the doc if it keeps happening..that can't be good for her, and probably not comfortable either. If she sleeps in a crib..put some folded blankets underneath the mattress to prop it up like a ramp so she sleeps on an incline. And use a humidifier or a vaporizer. This should help as well..Good luck!

use a baby syringe to suck the mucous out from the nostrils. also you can use a baby syringe to apply saline nose drops, which will loosen any built up mucous because nose/throat/ear are all connected.
