How can I get rid of a dry cough?

How can i get rid of a dry annoying persistant and constant cough????

  • EVERYBODY IS getting sick rite now some virus is definetely going around cuz this time i got sick like ive hardly ever been before it started with a sore throat then i got a fever then my throat got worse then i lost my voice then i got it back and then i got a cough that refuses to leave...this hs been going on for a week now..... i have tried every medicine including a prescription drug prescribes for my terrible cough i think the prescription drug only made it worse (albuterol) now ive been recomended stuff like eating a spoon of honey mixed with lemon and so on do these things really work or am i tolerating the revolting taste of honey for nothing? i need a quick fix at this point since its embarrassing and annoying to be coughing constantly in public...when i say constantly i mean CONSTANTLY its like sumbody put a fuzzball in my throat and its constantly just there and bothering me and so i keep coughing every second HELP!

    Hey sweetie.. lemon mixed with honey is a natures way of curing colds and coughs. The tablets just contain preservatives since it needs to last longer.. Yet, lemon and honey might not work in some cases.. like me fo r example.. I've been having this constant coughing and vomiting (plus breathless) for the past 4 months.. lately i have been vomiting blood too. Consulted 4 doctors so far, each diagnosed me in four different ways.. Respiration problems are a big headache, i just hope you don't have to go through all these things. Consult a ENT doctor who is well known to be good. Tell him its really tough for you. Some doctors have a tendency to type out some medicine and not explain why you need it. Good luck girl =D

It would be better to see a doctor but i heard that drinking coke (not iced) can work...... Well, i do drink them when i have a cough.... but im not sure if it will be effective on you ("the dry annoying persistant and constant cough")

I get this also and i also use albuterol. The one and ONLY thing on this earth that helps me is the Cough Medicine with codeine and Robitussin cough drops.

hon. try using a vaporizer at night. i fyou don't have one, you can now buy the little vicks ones that plug into your wall outlet like a nightlight. they really work. your throat is dry and sore and needs moisture in the air. in the am, and throughout the day, you can try gargling with some salt and water (not much salt! it will aggrevate, just 1 tsp, per glass) now, at work, or wherever, suck on lots of hard candies. it does not have to be halls, or coughdrops. just something to suck will help keep the cough at bay. i hope you feel better soon.

you dont need drugs, get a whole house or room humidifier and stay close to it, as long as possible, the air that you are breathing is too dry, causing your throat to dry out and the tingling sore throat sensation and the constant hacking try it it does work, its inexpensive and will help you rest
