Will a CT Scan show a Deviated Septum?

• Hi, Mainly, I'd just like to know if a CT Scan will show if I have a Deviated Septum or not? Also, what will normally be the first course of action if I do? I've had at least one sinus infection for the past 4 or 5 years. I've had colds all the time. And my nose has never been un-stuffed for the past 4 to 5 years as well. I have trouble breathing almost all the time. One of my nostrils is always clogged. (They switch from right to left). My girlfriend tells me I snore like a freight train coming through a tunnel. Also, chronic sinus infections, which is one reason why I'm going in for a CT scan, to see if I have chronic sinusitis. Any help on the CT scan question. Or anybody who has chronic sinusitis or a deviated septum and would be willing to tell me if their symptoms match mine, or if mine are anything close. Thanks in advance!

  I had a deviated septum for many years until it was straightened by an operation about 8 years ago. I suffered most of the symptoms you mention. There is no need for a scan to show this condition. A simple examination of the nose will do. This is all my surgeon did. The operation was a little hard to take but was not too bad and it seems to have helped. But it has not removed all of the symptoms, merely reduced them. I cannot comment on chronic sinusitis. There are two other things I have done to help, both of which are worth mentioning here. A nasal spray called Beconase helps a lot, as does a breathing method called Buteyko.
