What is cystic fibrosis?

  • what is cystic fibrosis? do any of you know?

  • Answer:

I have cystic fibrosis. It is a disease you are born with, and it affects your lungs, pancreas, and intestines. There are many mutations (i have 2 of the rarest mutations) but there is one mutation (something like DeltaF508) that more than 50% of CF patients have. Most people are diagnosed at birth, some as late as their teen years. The information on Wikipedia is surprisingly accurate, so I would suggest looking at that. Also, cff.org is the official cystic fibrosis foundation website, and they have some information, too. Hope this helps!

cystic fibrosis is a disease that affects your organs. It is common in the lungs. It makes the body form a sticky mucus and cause lung disease and hurts breathing. Years ago, people would not be able to live very long with this. But now, people can live well into their 40's or even longer!
