What is a lymph node in a lung?

What does a 1 cm lymph node on the lung mean?

    JJ, Idk, but I can tell you that it can mean almost anything.. and likely they'll have to take a wait and see approach and / or do more tests to figure it out.. I have a really good friend that went through that about Oct of last year. They found "small spots" and wanted to watch them.. but thought they might be "nothing"... then they grew, and there was more of them..more tests... now my friend has been diagnosed with upper left and lower right lung cancer... :( I don't mean to scare you.. we've had hope all along that it was "something else".. and most of the time, it is...

hey sweetie the best thing u can do is get on the internet, or call the american cancer soc.or sit down and talk to ur husband, he owes u that if there is something wrong, or if there isnt, just talk to him, good luck, i hope nothing is wrong.

Well sweetie, it could be a wide variety of things. And since he is keeping the pertinent information to himself, you really in the dark here. I hate to admit but I see a lot of your husbands traits in myself, I hate to talk about anything concerning me. I know it is not fair to my wife, and I see that it is not fair to you. Give him a few days to think this through and he will feed you tid bits of information, eventually you will get the whole story, just may take a while. Sorry.

If you are trying to interpret an xray and are not a radiologist, don't try. Leave it to the professionals to interpret and explain to you. Dark spots on an xray can be several things, from shadows to tumors. No way to tell unless you're specifically trained to read them.
