How can you get rid of a stye?

How can I get rid of a STYE that has lingered?

• My stye has lingered since the 5th grade. I'm a rising 9th grader now so I want to get rid of it this summer break. It puffs up every now and then but hasn't gone away since. It's hard now and really noticeable without my foundation. It has effected my eyelash growth and has a light red complexion. I do apply eye makeup. What kind of cream, eye drops or anything can I use/do to Completely Make It Disappear? I don't really want to contact my doctor yet, because of big bills, so almost ANY suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks Much :]

  Hi, my boyfriend had one on his eye for ages and it just wouldn't go, the optician suggested that he rub it in one direction with a cotton bud (cant remember if it was a wet or dry one, sorry) but anyway he did this for about a week or two then all of a sudden it just came out (hard puss- sorry if that sounds gross), and the relief he felt was amazing. You could also try steaming your face as the steam might help release it, then rub with cotton bud.
