Is it normal to have a deformed and rather odd feeling tonsil?

Foul smelling snot like stuff coming from back of tonsil?

• i have been diagnosed as having had tonsilitus with an abcess and i had a course of antibiotics that didnt work. then i got a course of penicillin and blood tests were done after about 6 weeks of enduring this condition, the blood tests were reassuringly normal even though they were taken when i had the penicillin in me. i went back to differnt doc, and a swab was taken from back of throat, two four more days of anxiety were to follow. again these were normal. im sick of going back to doctors they all think im mad, but the fact is my tonsil still doesnt feel right and there has been horrid smelling sputum building up behind it which i have to keep spitting out. my doc says its fine but i cant help feeling its not! it is not the hard white stones which we all get that also smell, but soft snot like white stuff. im going mad, can anyone tell me whats happening? is it the aftermath of the infection as i finished the penicillin last week? if anyone can advise me or if you have had or heard of someone with this problem id be glad to hear your story please. i do not want a tonsilectomy and doc says they wont offer me one anywhere, i dont know why? although im glad about that. im 27 and i quit smoking three months ago.

  that nasty smelling stuff could be coming from your nose in the form of post nasal drip. You might have a sinus infection. Any pain on your face or stuffed nose? http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/acute-sinusitis/DS00170 Note the list of symptoms....including mucus in the back of the throat.
