What effect does a common cold have on breathing?
-
I have a cold. I was practicing my trumpet and I found that I am running out of breath very quickly. Does this have something to do with the cold? And if so why does a cold effect breathing? Any and all ideas are appreciated.

Answer:
A cold will cause your respiratory tract to be inflamed and would, therefore, affect your breathing. Deep breathing is important to help ward off pneumonia, but limit anything that causes you to be too short of breath.
