Swine flu? Do the treatments work?

    Swine flu is a generalization of many other influenzas such as Influenca A,B and C. Swine flu is an air-born illness that effects the majority and occurs frequently every year altering in the influenca strain. Although these flus outbreak yearly the Influenca A is the most common with viruses such as H1N1, H1N2, H3N1, H3N2 and H2N3. The 2009 Swine flu outbreak virus is a simular version of the previous H1N1 outbreak (Spanish Flu, WWI postwar outbreak, killing 2% globally), and doesn't seem to actually originate from a swine, which is why it could potentailly be the next pandemic as it seems the H1N1 has mutated. There are several reported cases of people having it, and research has shown all but 2% have survived. It seems the 2% that have died are in either the age groups of elarly or infants as their immune system just is not strong enough to handle it. The most cases are concentrated in mexico. No known reason why, but a theory suggests the age population of children is significantly higher than other countries. Vitamin D is an effective way of building your immune system, and using precautions such as washing hands may be the only ways to prevent yourself from catching it. No vaccine has been created yet. Tamiflu (oseltamivir) and Relenza (zanamivir) are used to treat H1N1 virus, but does not mean the patient's virus subsides and is cured.

You either have been misinformed, or not informed at all. It can be cured, just like the regular flu can. In fact, that is what the doctors have said to do. *TREAT IT LIKE A NORMAL FLU.* That means take medicine, drink plenty of fluids (preferably the ones with vitamins and such) wash you hands more often, etc, etc. EDIT: You cannot get swine flu from eating pork. You get it from their fecal matter, not their meat. The only people that have died were the ignorant ones that were sick and did not seek medical attention. Sadly, this also can happen from the regular flu, but you don't hear people going on about that, now do you?

yeah there is. people mostly died bcuz' they cant tell they get swine flu (the symptons r juz like a normal flu) so it get worse and becomes too late to cure.

The swine flu is the regular flu, it just comes from small pigs now, people use the scientific name because it sounds more serious, common.."the piglet flu" it's not that bad and if u dont eat pork and ur not a baby or an oldie, your good :)

oh but there IS medication for the treatment of swine flu. AVIAN FLU is the one we can't cure. go to the doctor, and they'll fix you right up. it's no worse than the regular flu. no worries!!!

Where did you learn that swine flu has no cure? I heard differently. According to the news, Tamaflu and another medicine was quite effective in treating the swine flu. They have not developed a vaccine yet. So there is not way to prevent it at this time. Flu usually comes in waves. The experts are confident that a vaccine will be available before the next wave hits. Some people died from this flu because they didn't get medical help early enough and most were killed by the complication from the flu, such as pneumonia or other infections.

Um, the swine flu is not a terminal disease. And also...a strong immune system won't be much help against H1N1. It actually affects healthy adults with strong immune systems the worst, because the virus overstimulates the immune system and causes it to attack your own body. So, my advice would be: get it now while it's still mild haha

Swine flu is basically regular flu. Do people recover from regular flu? Of course they do. The people that die are usually the ones with compromised immune systems, or that don't have access to health care. Rarely, people that are healthy will succumb to the flu, swine flu or not. And most of the people who got swine flu got better.
