What is the difference between germ and virus?

Is there a way that I Could get rid of EVERY germ (Bacteria/virus) in my body?

  • I understand that some of your answers will be antibiotics. But is there some other anti-bacterial, and antiviral that I could take. I also know that some of you will try to explain that bacteria may be good. I am just Trying an experiment okay. To see what happens to me if I did get rid of them all or at least killed them all (I know you can't kill a virus). I believe that if I eat a more perfect diet for 50 days and I exercises and I get rid of EVERY germ in my body, that I should feel healthier. If you are worried about my health after word, I want you to know that even though my doctor is AGAINST this, he has agreed to see me every two weeks to see how I am doing. And if any signs show up of anything wrong I promised him that I would take his advice and go on a probiotic. But ONLY if my body starts to wear down. prescribed butd my an antibiotic, but I hear of some bacteria that start to get prone to them. So if you guys have any suAny at all) please list you answer. I'd be glad to see what you guys have to say.

not possible, you have to breathe, you take in bacteria and viruses with every breath, food contains bacteria, unless you never eat again, you lips are exposed to environmental elements and will get in your system, your mouth contains bacteria naturally, can't kill it all off.

There are bacterium in your intestinal tract without which you would die, but go ahead kill them all and yourself as well, In the name of science

Is your doctor just humoring you? Why would you want to do that? Your digestive system depends on bacteria to help break down food, your skin is covered with "normal flora" which is part of your immune system against dangerous microbes, fungi and viruses. This sounds weird. Is this a joke?

you will die without bacteria. and you are bucking the natural order of things, you are part of a larger system which depends on other parts. some parts are destructive, as some germs are, but some , even germs are good for you. if you somehow suceeded, which you won't, what will happen when you are reexposed to them? how is your digestive track going to operate? make friends with your germs, grab a hand ful of dirt and rub it into your skin and be proud you're part of the whole thing! (you are a germ in the system as well you know!)

guido

you would die if u did that. burn yourself.

you need bacteria to survive. look it up

You don't want to get rid of every bacteria/virus in your body because some of them are actually good for you, believe it or not. If you take antibiotics to try and rid these, your body will only become immune to them and the antibiotics will not work as effectively when you really need them. I honestly think you will feel more tired by doing this. Like I said, our bodies need bacteria....good or bad. Even the bad bacteria actually do good things to our bodies. Good luck with your experiment, but hopefully it doesnt do damage to you

You can't physically do it. You could live in a germ-free bubble but you would introduce bacteria and so on by your very presence. You're wasting your time and energy. I don't see any logical, valid reason for why you would want to do it. I think your doctor might have agreed for the entertainment factor. I wouldn't blame him. By the way, I already know the result of your experiment: not possible to succeed. A bit of a bombshell, I know.

Ehh-its a bad idea. What if you go through with this and you get ill sometime in the future and you need antibiotics for a legitimate medical reason...they won't be as effective because the bacteria do gain immunity(or they don't work as well on your body because you've had them so often). And if they get immunity, then superbugs develop... Plus, you need the good bacteria to digest food in your small intestine.
