What is the relation between deaths from cholera and sea level?

    Cholera is caused by bacteria in contaminated water. My guess is that it is more difficult to provide clean water at sea level due to physics, there is no natural gravity to pull sewage away. That is why Cholera is more common in areas that are both at sea level and have not yet developed the infrastructure to dispose of waste.

I suspect this has to do with 1. Brackish water harboring the Vibrio (bacteria) and 2. the manner of waste (ie poop) disposal into the river systems that run downhill to the sea and then see #1. Up hill is flushing itself, at the bottom its all sitting.
