How long does it take to get results from a biopsy?
-
A biopsy of a tumor to be exact. I don't need an approximate, just an estimate or maybe personal experience?
-
Answer:
I've gotten biopsies back in 2-3 days, but I can easily imagine that some doctors/hospitals use outside labs requiring shipment and/or are lax about processing things or contacting patients. I'd give it a week before contacting the doctor.

It depends on type of tumor, from which body part, etc. Most should take approx 1 wk.
