How do you know if you have the flu?

How would you know if you had swine flu or just normal flu?

  • see i dont usually go to the doctors when im ill cos i know it just needs to run its course but with all this swine flu going about i dont know weither im being overly cautious about it. Should i go to the doctors just to be safe? btw they was a reported case of swine flu in a town very close to me in the uk.

You can't tell on your own. Just call your doctors and tell them. They will probably just have you come in and be tested anyways. Swine Flu is the flu x 10. So throwing up, light headed, chest congestion, diarreha, body aches and so on.

The only way to tell is to be tested. They do a swab of your nose and send it to a lab. 24-48 hours later you know.

It doesn't really matter if it's the regular flu or swine flu, the treatment is the same. If your symptoms are severe - see your doctor.
