What will happen if lymphocytes are absent in w.b.c?

Increased WBC and lymphocytes count... worried!! Please Help!!?

  • Hello, I have recently done 2 Complete blood count test. One on 11th feb and other on 29th feb. These are my worrying factors: On 11 th feb: Total WBC count: 7500 (Normal: 4000-10000/cmm) Polymorphs : 49 % (Normal: 40-80%) Lymphocytes : 38% (Normal: 20-40%) Platelets : 195 (Normal: 150-400 thou/cmm) On 29th feb: Total WBC count: 9700 (Normal: 4000-10000/cmm) Polymorphs : 37 % (Normal: 40-80%) Lymphocytes : 50% (Normal: 20-40%) Platelets : 170 (Normal: 150-400 thou/cmm) Even though the total WBC count is still under normal, what worries me is: 1. It can be noticed that the total WBC count has increased about 2200/cmm within 18 days.... 2. The lymphocytes is now abnormal (50%)... and there is a increase of abt 12% in 18 days... 3. The polymorphs is now abnormal (37%)... and there is a decrease of abt 12% in 18 days... 4. The platelets count is normal, but there is a decrease of abt 15 thou/cmm in 18 days.... is this Normal? does this usually occur? or is something wrong?!!!! Please Help!!!! I am really worried!! Thanks in Advance!

  • Answer:

These are pretty normal dear. These readings will never be the same every time. You have also not mentioned why have you taken this test in such a short interval of time. By looking at your test reports it does not seem to me that you are having any sort of infection, then why are you wasting your blood and so much worried. You are perfectly fine dear as far as your results are concerned. So take a deep breath and relax. Good luck

Dear, if you have fever, then this probably is due to some kind of viral infection which generally is self limiting. Take good high protein diet and in CASE of fever you may take Paracetamol if temperature goes above 101 degree fahrenheit. What will work best is your own immune system. In case there is no fever, you may ignore the reports for the time being.
